Planned Preventative Maintenance
We deliver comprehensive, specialist Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) solutions for all drainage and wastewater systems. Our specialist engineering teams provide a complete maintenance solution that drives compliance, prevents pollution, and promotes safety on site.
Our rigorous approach reduces overall spend on site over a three-to-five year period. Our costs are transparent and comprehensive and include a site survey and drainage plan to ensure compliance with environmental standards (ISO 14001) and regulatory requirements.
Drainage
We provide market-leading drainage PPM solutions. The core of our maintenance service for below-ground drainage is our national fleet of combination tankers. Our state-of-the-art tankers can clean and descale drainage lines with powerful high-pressure jetting technology, while also delivering vacuum suction capabilities to remove wastewater from gullies and tanks. Typically providing maintenance on a six- or twelve-monthly basis, our crews help our FM clients to drive compliance, prevent pollution, and promote safety on site. Our engineers also inspect all drainage assets for defects, which can be quoted and repaired by our remediation teams.
We are Britain’s largest recurring maintenance provider for drainage infrastructure on commercial property, operating on thousands of sites around the UK. Our services drive operational performance and prevent pollution on retail parks, office buildings, shopping centres, industrial estates, industrial plants, transportation hubs, data centres, healthcare sites and leisure facilities, and we are trusted partners of the UK’s leading facilities managers, landlords and managing agents.

Internal Pipework
It is essential to maintain wastewater pipework and downpipes within buildings to mitigate the risk of flooding and damage. Our teams deliver comprehensive planned maintenance and inspection solutions for soil stacks, suspended pipework, plumbing fixtures, and lateral lines in skyscrapers, office buildings, department stores, retail sites, restaurants, and industrial facilities.
We use market-leading high-speed rotational milling equipment, the most effective tool for clearing hard scale and obstructions in pipework. This capability is complemented by experienced engineers who can provide CCTV surveys, high-pressure jetting, and diagnostic testing.
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss your internal drainage PPM requirements.
Petrol Interceptors
Petrol interceptors, or oil separators, prevent hydrocarbon contaminants in surface water runoff from polluting the environment. Interceptors are a required containment system for any car park larger than 800 square metres in area, as well as on service roads, vehicle maintenance sites, or industrial sites with oil storage facilities.
When interceptors do not function effectively, landlords and facilities managers risk breaching environmental legislation, and can incur significant penalties. Regular planned maintenance of interceptors is stipulated in regulatory and British Standards guidance; failure to maintain them, may create significant liabilities for site managers under the Environmental Protection Act legislation.
At Metcor, our specialist crews provide manhole checks, clearance, contaminant removal, periodic inspections and integrity tests. Our robust processes also ensure full traceability of hazardous waste consignment. If our maintenance teams identify defects with interceptors, we can deploy specialists to deliver asset refurbishments or replacements, with key capabilities including confined space entry, telemetry and alarm configuration, and end-to-end installation services.

Pumps
The maintenance of pump stations is critical to ensuring the financial and operational performance of pump-dependent properties: failure to do so can cause flooding, property damage, loss of earnings, and potential environmental liabilities.
Metcor delivers essential specialist pump maintenance services through its specialist national pumps subsidiary Anglo Pumps. Our engineers will provide a comprehensive mechanical inspection as well as electrical testing to ensure NICEIC compliance. Our engineers also inspect any telemetry sensors deployed to ensure effective remote monitoring capabilities.
In conjunction, our nationwide tanker fleet carry out waste removal and high-pressure cleaning, to ensure pump station chambers and ancillary mains and drainage lines are free flowing.
We are also expert providers of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) for clean water booster and pressurization units, circulator pumps, and ancillary plant. This essential testing and inspection services, typically carried out on a 3, 6 or 12 month basis, supports the circulation of water, heating fluid and coolants around offices, museums, hospitals and industrial sites across the UK.

Gutters and Downpipes
When guttering and downpipes become blocked or damaged, rainwater runoff is not effectively discharged into the surface water drainage system, causing water ingress, roof damage, and potential safety hazards.
Planned maintenance is an essential tool for mitigating these potential risks and costs. Our specialist teams of accredited operatives carry out gutter maintenance, aco channel cleaning and repairs at sites around the UK.
For any work at heights, risk management and training are paramount. All our operatives are fully MEWP and IPAF trained, and are prepared for each assignment with highly detailed RAMS. We can also, where required, provide rope-access specialists for complex maintenance needs.
Our maintenance services also include drone surveys. This innovation allows for detailed inspections of roof areas without Metcor or its clients incurring the risks of working at height.
Grease Management
Fat, oil and grease (FOG) contamination is coming under increased scrutiny from utility providers and regulators: in several recent high-profile cases, businesses have been prosecuted and fined under the Water Industry Act for failing to prevent the pollution of public utilities downstream of commercial premises.
Metcor provides routine maintenance of all grease trap units, including FatStrippa, Grease Sheild, Grease Recovery Units and Filta products. Without periodic maintenance and inspection from an expert operative, grease retention systems will fail, causing pollution, blockages and the potential for serious environmental, legal and financial penalties.
Our grease trap maintenance is done in conjunction with drainage PPM, meaning that any blockages or contamination of ancillary pipework will be comprehensively cleared, ensuring your entire system is left in effective operational condition.
In addition to these benefits, Metcor Environmental ensures that your FOG waste fuels the circular economy, generating a key feedstock for biofuel through compliant waste disposal.
