Installations and Projects
We have deep expertise in delivering large-scale capital projects in our niche areas of drainage and pump specialism. Our experience encompasses major installations of pump stations, sewage treatment plants, and flood defence solutions.
We have an excellent track-record in working effectively with supply chain partners, utilities and consultants when required to do so. We also provide sustainability-driven solutions, including grease retention system rollouts, low-consumption plumbing installations, and energy-efficient pump solutions. Please speak to our team today to discuss your requirements.
Pump stations
Installing a new pump station or pumping plant can deliver a host of benefits, from mitigating environmental risks to reducing energy consumption. These projects can be complex undertakings, with integrated mechanical, electrical and civils skills required. At Metcor, we have all these skills in-house, with dedicated teams of specialists who will work together, coordinated by expert project managers.
Our experience encompasses excavation and installation of new pumping stations, booster set upgrades and reconfiguration of plant rooms. We have excellent relationships with all the major pump manufacturers and can competitively source the best product for your site’s needs.
Treatment plants
Where a property is not connected to main drainage, a treatment plant is legally required to treat wastewater through biological processes. There are strict regulatory and permitting requirements, and it is vital that any installation and repairs to treatment plants are carried out to the highest standards. With a high level of expertise in the biological and chemical processes that underlie the successful operation of treatment plants, Metcor Environmental can ensure your plant suits your site’s needs and is fully integrated into your pump and drainage infrastructure.
Flood defence systems
Buildings in riverside and coastal areas are at increasing risk of major flood damage. Flood defence systems – integrated solutions encompassing pumps, specialist valves, and barriers – are increasingly being adopted by property owners and FMs to mitigate this risk.
Metcor Environmental has successfully carried out flood defence projects in data centers, office buildings and hospitality settings. Our integrated in-house expertise ensures that projects are efficiently managed and effectively delivered.
Grease management
Fat, Oil and Grease (“FOG”) from food waste is a growing issue that is increasingly on water authorities’ radars. For businesses with a large kitchen estate, dealing with FOG waste presents a critical operational challenge. As a member of the Grease Contractors’ Association and a participant in British Water’s Annual Conference on Fat, Oil and Grease (FOG), Metcor Environmental follows best practices when it comes to dealing with grease.
We maintain a range of grease retention units and traps for customers in the hospitality sector. As an independent installer, we will adopt a consultative approach that delivers intelligent solutions for your working environment. Following installation, we will also advise on the best ongoing maintenance regime to ensure that your grease management system continues to operate effectively.
Carbon-efficient plumbing fixtures
When we think about reducing carbon emissions, we often focus on electrical installations or HVAC systems. While these are worthwhile areas to drive efficiencies, water consumption is often overlooked. Cutting down water usage offers a significant opportunity to cut carbon consumption – with each cubic metre of water consumed generating around 10kg of carbon emissions.
We can survey, supply and install high-efficiency plumbing fixtures, such as low-water use urinals, taps, and showerheads. If you believe that your building could benefit from these improvements, please get in touch to find out how much cost and carbon you could cut.
Drainage systems
If you require an extension or modification of your drainage system, Metcor Environmental has the combined civils and drainage expertise to deliver your project requirements. Our in-house civils teams will scope your requirements, conduct the necessary surveys, liaise with stakeholders, and deliver the required excavations, groundwork and surfacing to ensure a high-quality finish.
IoT Solutions
As the Internet of Things becomes more prevalent in the built environment, predictive maintenance, based on sensors and data collection, will emerge alongside planned preventative maintenance. Metcor Environmental has been an early adopter of this technological trend: we install telemetry devices in pumps and other drainage plant to provide an early warning system for reactive engineers. We can also deploy flow monitoring and metering solutions to assess water and wastewater volumes, quality and costs.
