Origins
Metcor Environmental was originally Metro Mechanical Services, founded in the mid-1980s.
Working initially with the hospitality and food sectors, it grew into services for facilities managers and commercial property owners in London and the South East for other sectors ranging from commercial through to health and education.
Since then, it has grown to provide planned preventative maintenance, reactive and remedials for over 2000 sites from Edinburgh to Exeter, for retail parks too large residential complexes, company headquarters to football stadiums.
Metcor Environmental’s office was opened in Greater Manchester to support the ongoing growth of the business in Northern England and Scotland
New management team lead buyout of Metcor Environmental, and partner with existing operational leadership to take the business into its next chapter of growth. During this period, the business was recognised as one of the fastest growing in its region.
Metcor Environmental employees are designated key workers during the Covid-19 pandemic, and continue to support clients around the UK through an unprecedented time.
Acquisition of Cresco Services, a specialist drainage and plumbing contractor based in Essex, supporting the Central London commercial property sector.
The Metcor Group was launched, bringing together over 100 years of experience, providing smarter specialist solutions for a better built environment. Comprising three long-established companies, Metcor Environmental (rebranded from Metro Mechanical Services), Anglo Pumps, and Aylesford Electrical Contractors, Metcor provides preventative planned maintenance and emergency response services to many FTSE 100 and 250 companies, and iconic UK landmarks, including company headquarters and national museums.
Metcor Environmental, the cornerstone of the Metcor Group, is currently the National Drainage Contractor if the Year, as judged by its peers at the National Drainage Awards.
Today, the company has over 130 tankers, extensively kitted-out jetting vans, trucks and specialist high-level vehicles, providing comprehensive drainage, clean and waste water management services.
